Bringing the christmas tree is the most exciting moment during the Christmas celebration. The tradition of decorating a Christmas tree to celebrate the birthday of Jesus Christ dates back to perhaps the 15th century when it was first erected in Germany. Traces of the custom of decorating a tree as a part of rituals are found to be even older, to the times of the Germanic tribes who observed the festival of light around 21 December. During this festival they decorated trees with a number of adornments that may have inspired the celebrations of Christmas in the presence of a Christmas tree. Now a days christmas tree decoration has become a big train to many society of this world. So everyone tries to make their tree more attractive and decorative.

To make the best Christmas tree decoration you have to follow some rules from the very beginning of your shopping for the christmas tree decoration. You have to choose the perfect sized, shaped and the right kind of christmas tree to decorate. After confirming the size you have to decide which kind of tree you want to buy?the natural one or the artificial?the natural tree is the best option. But you can also go for an artificial one.you can also make it with wood easily too.

Christmas tree made of wood:

To make a wooden Christmas Tree you will need...
Some wood, MDF is easy to work with, paint, a string of Fairy lights, wood glue, sand paper and tools.

First draw a Christmas tree shape onto the wood. Make it as big and as tall as you like. Don't worry if you tree doesn't look symmetrical. Even God's trees aren't perfect. Remember to draw a star at the top of your Christmas tree.

You also need to draw out a stand for the tree. The stand is a square, the sides of the stand should be the about double the width of the trunk of your Christmas tree.

From the stand is a triangle, which extends up the back of the tree to support it. The base of the Triangle should be just a couple of centimetres shorter than the stand on which it will sit. The height of the triangle should be just under half as tall as the Christmas tree itself and it should be at an 85-degree angle from the base so that the finished tree leans backwards slightly.

Carefully cut out all the pieces of wood (you may need an adult to help you) and sand the edges to get rid of any rough sides.

Drill holes randomly into the Christmas tree shape. You will need to push the fairy lights through the holes later, and they need to be a snug fit. Find a drill bit that is a similar size to the fairy lights. Drill as many holes as you have lights, and drill a hole in the star at the top of the tree.

Using wood glue, stick all of the sections of wood together, and leave overnight to dry.

Give you Christmas tree a coat of paint. You tree may need more than one coat of paint. Leave to dry.

Push the Fairy lights through the holes from the back to the front. Start at the top and work your way down the tree pushing the lights through. If the holes are not a snug fit, use a dab of glue to hold each light in place.

Now plug your Christmas tree in and enjoy it for many years to come.

After selecting your Christmas tree you have to think about it's decoration.

Ornaments:
you should have to decorate your christmas tree with decorative ornaments which you can easily buy from any shopping center. You ccan also made them in your home by using your waste or old ornaments, stones, rings, ribbons etc.Expensive and loud and excess decoratives may mar the christmas tree so be careful. You can hang bells, candies, gift boxes, small stockings, small sized Santa are favorite to the children.little fairies and angles look beautiful as decoratives.Delicate angles give the holy touch to the Christmas tree.

Garlands:
Garlands are very important decorative item.tinsel, beads or widths of ribbons can be use to decorate. Many people use popcorn, cran berries or by making paper chains.you have to decide how much long you need to cover the whole Christmas tree. From top to bottom. You have to cover the tree stand too.You can put the garlands from the top of the tree and make little loops.which will make the Christmas tree to look better.Large loops would look ridiculous on the small sized tree so be careful.

Lightings:
Lightings are the most important and useful decorative item.you should emphasis on it.Buy some beautiful, flickering lights and hang them on your tree in different branches and portions.you can also choose different shaped lights like angle, stars, hearts etc.A 2 to 3 feet tall Christmas tree should have 40 to 80 lights.and the Christmas trees which are more than 4 feet tall should have 100 lights per foot of different colours and shapes and sizes.
